Some time passes and the president of the local chapter of Montgomery’s NAACP, E.D Nixon was working on the idea of a “bus boycott”. He believed the boycott would start a revolution. He initially proposed using Claudette’s arrest as a reason to boycott the buses. But pushback came from within saying “White people won’t accept her because her skin is too dark and she’s only 15 years old, she can not be the face of the anti-segregation movement.”
