Employee Spotlight Series: Maggie Wilson: The First Black Female Cannabis Sommelier and Chief Marketing Officer
We first noticed Maggie back in 2018 when she began posting about our brand on Instagram at a women’s retreat in the Coachella Valley. She was hosting her signature Reiki & Cannabis events that were featured in Dope Magazine in 2017 and celebrating with FRUIT SLABS.
Maggie is an incredible black female who has created a niche space in the cannabis industry with her expertise and we were thrilled to have her be in our C Suite in 2020 as our first black female hire and executive.
When Maggie came onto the team her mission was clear. She overhauled our entire marketing department with her professional and expert training as a cannabis sommelier. Maggie became the first black female cannabis sommelier in 2018 and has lead several cannabis pairing dinners where she educates about cannabis while pairing the terpene and flavonoid profile with the terpene profiles of the cannabis cultivars.
Today, we are pleased to feature, Maggie and the leaps and bounds we concurred with her at the Marketing helm. Black History Month wraps today but the future is very bright for black women in cannabis thanks to Maggie.
